I watched the Oscars last night and was enjoying the show, when suddenly, the moment for remembering past stars and entertainment execs came upon us. As the images popped on screen, and James Taylor performed, I started to hold my breath a bit, wondering if Michael Jackson would be acknowledged. He did have Thriller, perhaps the greatest video of all time, and then there is THIS IS IT. But still, I felt the Academy might snub him. It's funny to think that I would worry about Michael so much, yet I do...  And I know that many of his fans worry about Michael, because of all the allegations and rubbish that he was dealt in his lifetime, and the tarnish that still exists on his legacy. Many of us still fight for his name, even though his brilliance as an entertainer is now being acknowledged. Many of us try to break through the media "wall" to get to our friends and family who sill have their doubts about MJ, who seem permanently brainwashed by the media bombardment of the past 20 years. I will say one thing: Michael was a King of great magnitude... he was not only the King of Pop. As the Academy reminded us last night during the Oscars, MJ was a King of Arts and Science as well. For many of us, those attributes mean so much. But even more, I think his fans remember Micheal for something people rarely acknowledge: Michael was a King of kindness. That may seem corny... that may seem stupid to say... but I watched his humility and chronicled his kind deeds worldwide. And my own tribute to Michael, as I try to remember everyday of my life, is to learn from him. Actually, it's quite difficult to mirror the "Man in the Mirror." It's hard to be more loving, to be more forgiving, and to show acts kindness to strangers. Yet Michael did this everyday, even in the face of public humiliation and mockery. I may be taking a chance of being too "mushy" with these remarks, but I just need to say to Michael, THANK YOU for setting the bar so high.

Aphrodite,

I find it so refreshing to see someone like you, who started out the way you did, feel this strongly about Michael. It's beautiful, and I am so glad that we, his fans, have you in our "corner," if you will.

Every time I read your blog entries, I am absolutely astounded as I realize that at one point in your life, you were there on the "other" side...and you probably never would have believed if someone told you then that you'd feel like this today. But you saw past all the hogwash that was spewed, and I am so grateful for that...

Thank YOU, Aphrodite, for seeing who the real Michael was, and what he stood for. You have become, for Michael Jackson fans everywhere, such a champion of the truth. I just wish that people everywhere could hear what you're trying to share with the world...

You do a beautiful job with your blog. Please continue on - I'm a reader for good! :)

With the L.O.V.E. always,

At 8 months I thought I would surely be healing, however, last night watching the Oscars an the wall of rememberance it hurt just as much as when I heard that he had gone!! Everytime I think it cant be him, he cant have gone. Your words are wonderful Aphrodite, you have got Michael to a T. I think this is why it hurts so much, because he was so wonderful, so special, so unique and will be so missed!!

Your article is indicative of what I was thinking when watching the Oscars...are they going to acknowledge him or not and when I finally saw his photo I couldn't help but to shed yet another tear. For we have truly lost a remarkable human being and for those of us that know it, we must continue to fight for justice for Michael, on all fronts.

Aphrodite, two words: THE WIZ! The film that launched Michael's movie career. Ease on down, ease on down the road...

Aphrodite Jones said...

Of course - The Wiz! And Moonwalker. The loss of MJ is so immense, it's hard to capture in words. The moment I saw his photo flash up on the screen, it was a jolt and a heartbreaking reminder that he is gone. How sad for us all that we lost not only a brilliant entertainer, but a world-wide humanitarian. How lucky for us that we lived in an era where he touched out hearts.

Thank you for your wonderful comments.

I realize what I'm about to say will disrupt the general reverent vibe going, but while I was glad to see MJ on the memorium reel, I was even more pleased that Evan Chandler wasn't on it. Understandably, it would've been unbelievably bizarre if he was even considered... I mean... come on... Men In Tights?

Just wanted to share...

Ms Jones,

That was just lovely what you wrote, so moving it brought me to tears. Last night was really a shock, I was fairly certain Michael would get a mention as he did at the SAG awards but I also held my breath a bit.
I wasn't prepared for how it would hurt to see him included in that line up, in a way making it all fresh again.

Will you be releasing your documentary series on DVD? I am not sure that I will be able to view it and there may be others in my same position. I would think there would be a great deal of interest if there was one for sale some day.
I hope you will consider it. :-)

Thank you so much for doing what you do, for having the strength of character to acknowledge an error in judgement and then to go so far above and beyond to let others know the truth. I have read your book and loved it, it took real courage for you to step up write the book much less self publish.

I am so glad that Michael knew that there were people willing to tell the truth, few as they may be. I have nothing but respect for you along with a legion of Michael Jackson fans!!

Thanks for your heart-felt comments about MJ. Like many of you, I feel that I can't express my feelings to others--they would think I was just a crazy fan in denial--they just don't get it. I have a cousin who is adamant that he was a pedophile and there is no convincing her otherwise. Logic doesn't work. How do you undo 20 yrs. of brainwashing? But at least I have you guys, you all understand.

Hi AJ, great post! The way I see it, MJ haters are going to continue to hate, so let them. I almost feel sorry for them, to be so easity brainwashed. It's us the fans that are going to keep MJ's legacy alive. The haters are missing out because it's wonderful to be an MJ fan, it's wonderful to connect with other MJ fans, and he has plenty of fans that will keep his star shinning bright forever.

The media, well that's different story. I hope your book and your show about MJ help to open people's eyes a bit and not be so blinded by the media's negative commentary. I'm not going to lose hope just yet.

Thank you Ms. Jones for a beautifully written piece. Michael's ability to touch so many comes from a deeper place, one that is so rare, most don't recognize it. I am so thankful that you continue to acknowledge and spread the word of what a wonderful human being he was and how lucky we all are to have lived during his time. His musical genius is evident, his kind soul & true love for mankind, sadly, was not appreciated by everyone, it is their loss. For those of us who always recognized him as a human being, kind soul and humanitarian are the lucky ones. Why did such a wonderful human being have to be treated so badly and endure so much pain? Thank you for doing what you do to bring the truth out to be heard. For all those reporters that have wrongfully written lies about Michael all for the sake of the almighty dollar or ratings, re-examine your soul and make things right. It's time they come out and write the truth, that is the least they can do. He deserves for the truth to be told of how the media maliciously hunted him down all in an effort to destroy him and why. For all those reporters that took part in this witch hunt, karma is a bitch. Make it right.

Hi Aphrodite:

Your thoughts on Michael as the King of Kindness resonated deeply with me. Here is a quote I have on my office wall that also shows the truly wise man that Michael was/is - "Kindness is more important than wisdom; and the recognition of that is the beginning of wisdom." The quote is by Theodore Isaaac Rubin.

Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped. We did an extensive remodeling job and now I want to refinance to cut the term to a 20 or 15 year loan. Does anyone know any good sites for mortgage information? Thanks!

Thank you, Aphrodite, for these comments. I couldn't see the oscars since I'm from Germany. But I had a similar experience when we had the ECHO awards 2 weeks ago. I was wondering if they would honor him, and they did! His musical work is acknowledged, but this media brainwash with so many wrong stories (like the wrong interpretation of his autopsy report)is still in the heads of people. It's hard to break it and to convince people that we really can learn a lot from MJ about love for each other and forgiving.

Hi Aphrodite,
I appreciate all your efforts, from writing the book to help set the record straight on MJ and the 2005 trial, even when it was not the popular thing to do, to your interviews, and this site and your blogs.

I wonder if you would consider writing a blog about how you went from writing about the 2005 trial and your beliefs there was a conspiracy against MJ to actually becoming a loyal and dedicated fan who appears to really appreciate his inner beauty.

I mean, just writing the book was such a contribution towards efforts to clear MJ's name and legacy but you have gone way beyond that, to speaking on his behalf and trying to impart his message of love and caring for one another and the planet.

This is the first time I have submitted a comment to this site. When will your cable show start? I can hardly wait!

It is good to have you (and Charles Thomson) on our side.

Ms. A. Jones; Unfornutely i have a distant relative ( through marriage only) who has a daughter with a beautiful face, a teenager. who met a popular rdio personality and saw how well he lived and how wealthy he seemed to be so she had sex with him. she was under age but she convinced him she was an adult. her and her mom decided to black mail him after revealing her correct age. figuring that he'd pay up rather than take a chance on being prosecuted, embarrassed and having his life destroyed. fortuneatly it did not work after it was discovered that the young female had a very long juvenile criminal history, and the mom was under investigation for other illegal activities. so they waited until things cooled down and committed insurance fraud. they were unfortuneately successful, and recieved a large check from the insurance company. this is the same disgusting behavior that damaged Michaels reputation.what in the world is wrong with us as a society when parents encourage thier children to committ immoral acts because of GREED! dr. murray did'nt kill MJ the media did! narrow minded, profit seeking, high ratings seeking JOURNALIST!!! what if someone did the same thing to thier children? or someone they love. Michael spent his whole life visiting hospitals, orphanages, the sick, the poor and each and every time writing check after check. he has spread so much love around the world that they had to put him in the guiness book of records, and more than once. how any one with a little common sense could think that he would want that destroyed so he could touch a teenager wrongfully, well it boggles the mind it truly boggles the mind. the one thing the media people havent been able to do is stop the billions of fans from being loyal to michael. they see what the journalist saw but refused to acknowledge.everyone in my bridge club talks about getting to heaven so they can meet michael. we even have one member who was pretty much a bully until listening to MJ'S song heal the world and developed a complete change of heart. we all owe MJ so much for loving us all unconditionally and doing so much to encourage us to love each other. THANK YOU MICHAEL OH HOW I WISH YOU COULD COME BACK, YOU ARE SO TRULY LOVED AND RESPECTED.

I saw the news on the net that in April the MJ Conspiracy series will be aired in the US. But we haven't heard any news about that series being aired in Taiwan, or even in Asia. I think this series is EXTREMELY important because it will change the world's views on Michael. We'll be truly grateful if Ms. Jones helps to talk to Discovery Channel to air this series in the whole world. We really want EVERYONE to know who Michael truly was....

After I fell in love with Michael last year I decided to be a better person. I believe if more people know Michael, their lives will be changed too, and they will become better people, and the world can be changed. And the series I talked about is a powerful tool in this. So please do help us and tell Discovery Channel to air this series in the whole world. The fans in Taiwan, even in the whole Asian, will try hard to spread the news about this show. We hereby give you our most sincere thanks and love. God bless you!

aphrodite & friends: Michael Jackson very seldom gave interviews and with good reason. still out of the goodness of his heart he allowed Martin bashir into his home and his life for an in depth interview. and it seemed to go ok until bashir started asking him over and over again about children sleeping in his bed. it was QUITE CLEAR to many one watching that interview that bashir was trying to start some mess QUITE CLEAR1 well i have awakened on several times with 8 little male socker players in my calif-king. arms and legs going every where. they were suppose to be sleep in thier sleeping bags in front of tv in living room, but they waited until i was asleep and the little stinkers crawled in my bed to watch tv because i have a wide screen in my bedroom. so i just find my way out of that maze and fix them all breakfast. since all those stinkers slept in my bed, well i must be a child molester as well. mr. bashir owes Michael and his family a deep, deep and SINCERE APOLOGY11111 because that is what got this nonsense started in the first place. and all the rating, profit seeling, immoral, unethical media people owe him one as well. me and my family no longer watch any type of entertainment shows that have ever said anything negative about Michael and until they develop some morals we never will again. love you MJ for eternity!!!

I'd look over my shoulder for divine distain... Michael you are loved by the entire world...by your two precious sons and your lovely little girl...all the love you've shown ,and the good deeds you've done... i assure you won't be forgotten by anyone...we look at your picture and talk to you in a soft tone...so just remember Michael, you're never alone...the spirit of this earth is where ever you are...in the sun, on the moon or on a star...we'll all have you back one day this we know...and as you once said it will be Gods glow....love you eternally mj

Thank you for your continuing support of Michael Jackson. It is going to take a lot of work to undo twenty years of lies and exaggeration but you, and others, are well on the road to making that change.

I enjoyed watching the documentary and hope that you get the opportunity to do teh two hour program. People need to learn that he was not the weirdo that the media has claimed. He was a talented, hard working man who was literally dragged down from the pedestal his work and determination placed him upon. No one gave him that status. He earned it.

Please continue doing what you're doing. I look forward to seeing more from you.

One of the most painful things, though, it how many people still revile him. It's so brutally cruel and unfair. The reason no one is even remotely close on the JonBenet case is because no one has the right crime. It was just what it looked like: a kidnapping gone horribly wrong, (The scream followed by the massive blow to the head that doesn't fit in this scene). It is also the only crime where nature and motive agree. This crime had nothing to do with sex. I can rule out a pedophile or any sexually motivated intruder. I can also show she was lured, not carried to the basement.
I also know two people with extreme motive but for kidnapping not murder.

Was Michael Jackson's last Will and Testimony signed by him in Los Angeles on the date which appears on the documents?

And, whether MJ was really in New York City on that date?

Also, if he was not in Los Angeles why would the Court/Judge considered valid?

These are the immediate questions which we as MJ fans and Jackson family supporters should be concern with...
